Cancer affects the physical, psychological, social and economic dimensions of the patient’s life and his or her environment. Today, there are many changes in the field of cancer treatment. The number of outpatient patients has increased and the outlook for cancer patients is better than ever.

But cancer experience can be difficult for both patients and those who care for them. The Noor charity sponsor of Cancer Patients seeks to provide people with quality, timely and understandable information to help them avoid the fear of the word cancer.

Patients with cancer have different needs over time. The long-term treatment of these individuals, their families and their friends is challenging the physical and emotional state of affairs. People who become severely ill need more care and support.

The long-term needs of many people who survived the disease have been and will be facing challenges in recent and future years. Many recoveries still require ongoing medical care. There may also be financial and rehab and mental needs for them.

For many people, the diagnosis of cancer can make a major difference in their way of life. Research shows that one out of every four people suffering from the disease suffers from severe anxiety and needs more support in this area. The mental services for cancer patients in Iran are still much unknown. The Noor Charity Foundation is working to identify gaps and shortcomings in post-treatment care.

The most common psychological problems in cancer patients are, depression, anxiety, physicalization, and social dysfunction. Failure to eliminate these causes reduces the effectiveness of medical treatments and medical care.

In this regard, with the support of the Society of Cancer Patients, all patients with inpatient and outpatient carcinoma use specialized psychological counseling services. These services are provided to the patient and their families in two dimensions individually and in group. Psychological counseling services are offered throughout the course of the treatment from the beginning of the chemotherapy to the end of the treatment and recovery phases.
